Xenotransplantation: the term used to describe the transplantation of cells, tissues or whole organs from one species to another; for example, from pigs to baboons or from pigs to humans.

APAAX is an international alliance of diverse groups, associations and individuals, who are opposed to the use of animal organs, tissues and cells for transplantation into humans, a process commonly known as xenotransplantation. APAAX believes that xenotransplantation (XT) represents a dangerous and unethical development in medical therapy and that it is being promoted ahead of safer, cheaper and more reliable alternatives.
